MUNICIPALITY STILL ON COURSE TO RETICULATE ALL WARDS
The municipality will not rest until all wards are reticulated with the municipal area of jurisdiction. The Executive Mayor together with the MMC: Clr B.T Mokoena, Ward and PR Councillors and the community of Kheilang village in ward 18, in Greenvalley and the community of Timbavati C, ward 19 in Acornhoek celebrated the official hand over of the two water reticulation projects in both respective villages on Wednesday, 6 July 2016.
A total of 1 150 stand pipes were installed, covering a total of 24.5 kilometres of water reticulation in Timbavati C village. In Kheilang village, a distance of 10.314 kilometres of water reticulation network was covers, with 340 stand pipes installed.
A combined total of 26 temporary jobs were created during the construction of the two projects. All labourers were awarded competency certificates for plumbing as they acquired skills. They will use the newly acquired skills in other future endeavours.
The Executive Mayor will continue with the handover of completed projects on Thursday14th and Friday 15th July. He will be handing over the Dumphries B and C Water reticulation projects on Thursday the 14th and continue to hand over the Mkhuhlu Internal street project on Friday 15th. All these projects are milestone service delivery legacy that will improve the lives of our people
