As part of the national imbizo focus week, the Deputy Minister of Communications Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams hosted dialogue sessions with members of the community, on Sunday the 12th April 2015. The Deputy Minister of Communications accompanied by the Executive Mayor of Bushbuckridge Cllr Renius Khumalo made visits to Mkhuhlu chicken /Khani chicken and vegetable farm, Samkelisiwe agricultural co- operative, Pauliana Taxi rank, radioBushbuckridge,NzeleniDisability Centre in Casteeland Casteel Thusong Centrewhere she interacted with stakeholders and community members.
After engaging community members, Deputy Minister of Communications interacted with other provinces via web streaming from Bushbuckridge Local Municipality Council Chambers to the National Imbizo Lounge. Community members were afforded ample time to ask questions and various Ministers who were deployed toNational Imbizo Lounge provided clarity on questions asked by stakeholders via Skype connection.
The Imbizo Focus Week is a heightened period of communication aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial interaction and engagement as well as progressive partnerships between government and communities.The Focus Week is guided by the Cabinet approved National Communication Strategy’s five-year theme – “Together we move South Africa forward”.
