The premier for Mpumalanga Hon DD Mabuza, MEC for education mrs Reginah Mhaule, Mayor of Bushbuckridge councilor Renias Khumalo and Dumisile Nhlengethwa officially opened Frank Maginyane Secondary School on the 23 February 2015.
The late Frank Maginyane was the founder of the school. Frank Maginyane started operating in 1982 as a community School. The construction of a new infrastructure for the school commenced during February 2013 and was supposed to have been completed in February 2014. It is situated at Ludlow trust, under the Manyeleti Circuit in Bohlabela District.
The school has 16 classrooms, 24 toilets, a kitchen, library, admin block, laboratory, computer center, multipurpose hall, guard room, sports ground (soccer, netball and tennis court) fenced. The new school infrastructure was occupied in July 2014. It has an enrolment of 703 learners, 24 educators, 02 HOD’S, acting principal, an administrative clerk and 02 general workers.
The purpose of the business plan for official hand over ceremony sought: to ensure maximum consultation and participation by all state holders. To ensure seamless co-ordination towards the achievement of this historic milestone in the community.
The Mayor of Bushbuckridge local municipality welcomed everyone to be a witness of the unveiling and handover of the school and thanked the provincial government for building the school and also mentioned that the community has the right to strike not to burn the school.
‘’This is government Endeavour to ensure that the learners from rural areas equally receive quality education. I request parents to appreciate this patriotic gesture and reciprocate by supporting the education of their children,’’said MEC for education’’.
The premier for Mpumalanga Hon DD Mabuza also appreciated the greater achievement through the effort made by the MEC of public works. He also said that learners must take care of the school. The acting circuit manager (former principal of Frank Maginyane) made a commitment with premier that he will produce 100% pass rate this year. The premier also appreciated the progress made by the acting circuit manager for work done.
He gave the son of late frank Maginyane the following: frame pictures for the late mom and father , MEC of public works , MEC of education , president of South Africa , premier DD Mabuza and also the flags of S.A. He also said that the journey of building school is continuously, as a nation we move South Africa forward.
