The Honourable Premier Mr Mandla Ndlovu officially handed over the newly constructed, state-of-the-art Godide High School on 15 October 2025. The school featured modern infrastructure, including a computer laboratory, library, science laboratory, administration block, classrooms, a school hall, kitchen, walkways, carports, ablution facilities, a guard house, soccer, netball and volleyball fields, as well as open-view fencing. 

The Premier was accompanied by the Chairperson of the House of Traditional Leaders, Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena, MEC for the Department of Education Ms Lindi Masina, MEC for the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport Mr Thulasizwe Thomo, Amashangana Traditional Authority, Moletele Traditional Authority, Moreipuso Traditional Authority, Executive Mayor Cllr Lydia Moroane, Council Speaker Cllr Ruth Raganya, MMCs, and other dignitaries, who were welcomed by a world-class reception. 

In her welcoming address, Bushbuckridge Local Municipality (BLM) Executive Mayor Cllr Lydia Moroane highlighted the importance of the facility, stating that it would make a significant difference in the lives of learners and members of the community. 

MEC Thomo and MEC Masina echoed similar sentiments regarding the safety of the school, emphasising that it was the responsibility of the school, the community, and all stakeholders to ensure the infrastructure was protected. They further appealed for the school to remain a no-go area for criminal activities and community protests. 

Delivering the keynote address, Honourable Premier Mr Mandla Ndlovu reflected on the role the school had played in the community and the achievements it had produced since its inception. He further emphasised the need for improved academic results, noting that the school was fully equipped to achieve a 100% pass rate. 

The event was attended by community members from Godide, Rolle, and surrounding villages, as well as representatives from sector departments, the private sector, and academic institutions.
